ByteCentral is a video series created by Sam The IT Man. This page explains how the website’s current features work. For questions about your information, email byte@byte-central.com.

Watching and learning

The website does not include advertising trackers, a public account-registration form or a payment checkout. Videos and captions are served with the website. Quiz answers are held temporarily in your browser and are not submitted to ByteCentral; refreshing the page resets them.

Your display preference

If you use Calm mode, your browser saves that choice on this device under bytecentral-calm. It is used to restore your preferred display. You can change the setting in the footer or remove it by clearing this website’s browser storage. If saving is unavailable, the setting still works for your current visit.

Contacting Sam

Email links open your own email app. Clicking a link does not send a message: you choose whether to send the draft. If you contact Sam, your email address and the information you include are available to him and the email services involved in delivery.

Share only the information needed for your enquiry. Please do not send passwords, login codes, card details or sensitive documents. Contact Sam if you want to ask about an earlier enquiry or request removal of information you have sent.

Hosting and external services

This website is hosted by 20i. Hosting services process technical information needed to deliver and protect the website, such as IP addresses and requests for pages and media. These hosting records are separate from quiz answers and your display preference.

Links to Instagram and other external resources take you to services with their own privacy arrangements. This site does not embed an Instagram feed.

If you find a possible security problem, email Sam with the affected page and a brief description. Please do not send passwords, private account data or exploit other people’s accounts.
